What is Kami Records?
Kami Records is a next-generation music company focused on providing solutions to artists in the modern era. We help artists of all shapes and sizes grow their businesses from bedroom beginnings to international notoriety through our groundbreaking technology, constantly evolving marketing tools. We work with all the major music platforms in the market, such as Spotify, Apple, Deezer, YouTube, Pandora, Tidal, Napster, Amazon, TikTok, VK Music, Boom, AudioMack, ByteDance, Anghami, and many more. We monitor the performance of each Kami Records artist daily and offer tools and strategies that make sense for every moment of their careers. Upstart artists get marketing tools and performance analytics to help them grow and reach the next level. When they reach that next plateau, we can start to implement strategic plans and bespoke campaigns for those more established artists who need to leverage their fanbase and execute world-class release strategies.
Do I need to pay to be part of Kami Records?
Kami Records does not charge you to register and distribute your content. We only earn a percentage of the revenue generated by plays, views and downloads of your content. That’s why we’re always innovating, evaluating, and optimizing our workflow for best practices. We share everything we learn with our clients, creating backend tools and frontend strategies to help artists make the most of their space in the volatile music market.
For our business to thrive, it’s critical that your content gets the best possible exposure in order to maximize revenue.
How much will I be paid?
Kami Records will pay 85% for download stores, 70% for YouTube and 50% for videos (excluding YouTube)
When and how will I be paid?
Whenever a platform pays us, the balance is already available for artists / labels to request redemption. Most platforms pay monthly after 30 to 90 days from the end of the month in which the plays / downloads / views took place.

You distribute your content using Kami Records even before you open a Paypal or Payoneer account, but to receive your payments you will need to open an account on one of these two payment services.
What type of content can I distribute?
At Kami Records you can freely distribute albums, EPs, singles and videos.
How can I monitor the performance of my content?
We have a sophisticated suite of analytics tools available for free.

Daily statistics – Track your plays daily on major platforms. Use several filters to refine your analysis.
Monthly analytics – Have your financial data arranged in various types of charts with different filters.
Playlist tracker – Keep track of which playlists your streams are coming from
YouTube Content ID Tracker – Find out which videos used your music and how many plays each one is generating.

It’s very important to understand what’s happening with your content and releases so that you understand the actions that drive the most results. Our artists learn from their successes and failures to build sustainable careers instead of simply releasing their music and hoping for the best.
Can I also receive publishing rights?
Yes. We have tools for publishers and authors so that they can claim different copyrights from countries and platforms around the world. In many cases we will receive rights directly from platforms, in other cases, we will register your music with copyright organizations worldwide so that you can increase the amount you receive directly from your copyright society.
How Do I Get Permission to Record and Release a Cover Song?
If you plan on releasing a cover song as part of a physical and/or downloadable record, you will need a mechanical license. The current statutory rate for mechanical licenses in the US is 9.1 cents per downloaded song or song on a physical album purchase. We recommend an agency like Affordable Song Licensing or Easy Song Licensing to help you with the cover song licensing process.
